Stage 5: Rolling the Hull

The next stage was to turn the boat over so I could start fitting out the inside.  The total weight of the hull at this stage of the build was about half a tonne.  I had a few concerns about the process.

Are the beams going to break when they took the full weight of the hull?

Are my winches up to the task?

Is there enough room to flip the boat over?

I had some great help from Steve who provided me with step by step drawings which I followed closely.  Another friend Hugo also supplied me with some great knowhow and kit to prepare for the lift.  On the day Chris, Stephen and Christopher came over and helped me successfully turn her over.  It went very smoothly as did our celebratory glass of Glenfiddich!

This phase took me weeks of contemplation, confusion, panic and general head scratching but only a few minutes to perform.
